Peter Evans

Peter Evans

We first met the artist, Peter Evans, in a bar in the pictureque village of Lusignac, which incidentally he made famous through one of his paintings. Peter has lived and worked in the Dordogne for the past twenty years. Initially an abstract artist, he found his calling through photo realism. His paintings capture intimate scenes, often of France, which almost peel time away, giving a subtelty to the often ordinary, everyday subjects, such as a household object or an old shop front. Visiting his studio we saw his latest works in progress and indulged in a glass of claret.

Peter is represented in the Uk by the Cato Gallery and the  John Davies Gallery.
