Papier d'Arménie Scented Candles
The Papier d'Arménie company was started in 1885 by Armenian immigrants in Paris. The product, which was essentially an incense strip of paper, was invented so that Europeans could discover the benefits of benzoin, which was already well know in Armenia, Malaysia and India. In spite of its chemical sounding name it is a natural product, obtained from the Styrax tree from the forests of the Far East, principally in Laos. It is valued for its sweet vanilla and balsamic notes and is used by the modern perfume industry as a natural fixative, for instance by Guerlain for Shalimar.
We have chosen a more modern form of delivery for this traditional room purifier, the scented candle. You can choose the classic, almost spiritual Papier d'Arménie fragrance, or the recent addition of La Rose. Neither will disappoint.
