Perfume
Founded in 1975 by Parisian 'nose' Yuri Gutsatz, the perfume atelier, Le Jardin Retrouvé is somewhat of an institution for those in the know. Yuri had spent the greater part of his career working in one of the most prestigious French companies making aromatic products. His own creations are made entirely without the use of chemical substances and only using natural ingredients.
Asked to create a series of perfumes to accompany productions at the Paris Opera House in the 1950s, Yuri's fragrances took inspiration from all aspects of theatrics. The smell of the soft leather shoes worn by the Russian dancers and the evocatively named 'Ballet des Fleurs' led to classic fragrances 'Cuir de Russie' and 'La Rose Opéra', which are among some of the perfumes we bring you today.
